The space      “Picasso Atelier” is a 2 bedrooms apartment in the historic and bohemian Montmartre neighborhood of Paris in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, just a few steps away from the Sacré Coeur, the Moulin Rouge and Pigalle.       In 1900 Pablo Picasso took this apartment as his first studio in the City of light. The suite has been eclectically decorated over the years, combining eastern and western themes while providing comfort and convenience for guests. It is decorated with art throughout and filled with well stocked bookshelves       This 4 guests apartment is divided into two levels. The lower level contains the main bedroom, the bathroom and an office. There's also a double sleeping sofa bed in another bedroom.       The main bedroom features a Queen size bed and is comfortable and roomy as well as quiet at night. The ensuite bathroom has an extensive view over the whole of Paris with a bath & shower & two separated sinks. The second bedroom offers a double sleeping comfortable sofa.       Upstairs is the large open-concept kitchen and living room. With its tiled floors and skylights, this room is bright and relaxing, ideal for reading, sketching and painting. Guests can also enjoy the use of a television, radio, DVD player, and internet.       The kitchen is fully equipped, has a stove, an oven, a fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, and an American style counter.       The apartment has all equipment you need to have a perfect stay. Free Wi-Fi, quiet and easy access thanks to the metro and taxi stations nearby.       In this “pied-à-terre” perfectly located in the center of the French capital, you are greeted by our team for a visit of the apartment. We also offer you a “welcome basket” with basic goods (toilet paper, rubbish bag), a bottle of wine, milk and other products that makes you start your stay in the best way.       Our team is available all along your stay to satisfy all your needs. We also provide you a real concierge service: touristic advises to visit Paris, restaurant reservation, babysitting and many other services that you can discover on our website.          Guest access      The guest will have access with the whole apartment.          Interaction with guests      We are happy to offer you a complimentary private car service from any Parisian airport or train station for your arrival.    Your English speaking driver will wait for your party outside the Customs doors/at the end of the relevant train platform, bearing a sign reading your name.     He will then call us upon your departure from the airport/train station so that your greeter can time the meet up at the apartment.    Your greeter will then meet you at the apartment directly, show you the apartment, collect final payment, and give you   the keys.    If you are arriving by car, please be sure to call your greeter one hour before reaching the apartment.          The neighborhood      The 18th arrondissement is one of the most historically interesting quarters of Paris. Turn left on leaving the apartment & you arrive in rue LEPIC known all over Paris for its street merchants. The Montmartre area, with its narrow winding streets, colourful street markets & rich collection of cafés & restaurants is a delight to the senses. Home of the Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur & the former residences of Picasso, Pissarro & an entire generation of French and expatriate artists, Montmartre has retained it's unique village character.    Turn right on rue LEPIC & after a 15mn walk you'll reach the elegant Palais Garnier Opera House, designed as part of the great Parisian reconstruction of the Second French Empire instigated by Emperor Napoleon III, & completed in 1875. The Opera House now features ballet & other concerts & has guided tours for visitors.    Within a few minutes walk of the Opera House are the quintessentially Parisian department stores, Galleries Lafayette & Le Printemps, with their colorful domed interiors & unrivaled selection of clothing & accessories.    Cultural attractions of the quarter also include three jewel-like museums: the Musée de Montmartre, which once housed the studios of Renoir & Suzanne Valadon; the Musée Gustav Moreau, the home & studio of the influential symbolist French painter; & the Musée de la Vie Romantique, with its attractive terrace & collection of the belongings of George Sand, the celebrated 19th century writer.          Getting around      The nearest Metro station  is Metro "Abbesses" line 12.          Other things to note      Please note that this apartment is available to rent for stays of 3 nights minimum. The 3 nights minimum stay duration is specific to this apartment and overrides our usual minimum stay policy as outlined below.

Incredible Views

Lovely two-level, spacious, well-decorated apartment with all the amenities of home--plus a view of Paris that's incomparable. Excellent bathrooms, wonderful kitchen. Wonderful artwork. This apartment has been renovated to the highest standards--with no shortcuts and nothing done "on the cheap". Very close to many delicious, well-priced neighborhood restaurants. Jeremy provided extremely responsive reservations service, and alex was the perfect driver. Just know this section of Paris is for the very physically fit.

Paris at your feet

The apartment is the perfect way to experience living in Montmartre. It is in a great location close to everything. The underground rail is just five minutes walk away. There is a small deli 50 feet from the front door of the building where you can buy groceries and wine at very reasonable prices. Everything is within walking distance. The apartment takes up the top two floors of the building and as such there's a little bit of stair climbing but well worth it. The apartment is very tastefully furnished and has an extensive bookcase filled with interesting books about Bali and Paris. The 180 degree views from the balcony are astonishing. Paris is literally at your feet below. It is truly a brilliant apartment, very Parisienne in its vibe. We loved it and would definitely re-book on our next trip to Paris.

Amazing View! Montmartre at your feet.

Stayed 4 nights with my wife and parents ( mid 60's). First things first the view from this place is to die for. The only thing you can't see is Sacre Couer because it's about 50m behind you. The apartments location is great but as other reviewers have suggested the combination of the four flights of stairs and Montmartre's very steep terrain make it a challenge, as it was for my parents. That said, you have the charming, if not a bit touristy, Monmartre right outside the door. Access to the metro is good but its a very steep walk back up the hill at the end of the day. The apartment itself looked great but wasn't without issues. One of the toilets didn't work. The main bed is incredibly hard. The second bedroom is a fold out futon which is ok but there were no lights in the room at all. Many of the lamps and lights in the flat were out of order. There was no toilet paper either. That said, the HFR people were good to deal with. Left a bottle of wine as a welcome gift etc. I'd go back.

Paris At Your Feet!

We spent a week at the Picasso and would highly recommend it. The apartment is perfectly situated in Montmartre - close to the metro, Sacre Coeur and many good restaurants. We were lucky with the weather and everyday we ate out on the balcony. The view is outstanding. As other reviewers have pointed out, the beds aren't the most comfortable but we didn't notice as much after the first couple of nights. The kitchen is well appointed though we missed having a kettle. The apartment is fairly well maintained and quiet - a welcome retreat at the day's end. There are lots of stairs to get you up above the noise. Bernard met us at the apartment and was friendly and helpful. Dealing with Holidays France Rentals was excellent. We would definitely book another property through them. Thank you for an excellent home for our vacation. :-)

Great Stay

Overall, a very good stay. We were picked up early at the airport and was transported to the rental. Our greeter James, met up with us and gave us the keys. James is super nice and great to deal with. Picasso is a great place to stay. It has a great view and staying in Montmartre is 100 times better than staying in downtown Paris. Going to the stores and making our own breakfast (while looking at the view) was amazing! Dealing with James made me feel comfortable. The area is great - great shops, restaurants, and close to the metro. Getting picked up is amazing and the bottle of wine is a great touch! The umbrellas at the house came in handy also. Prompt return of the deposit. Wifi connection was strong. Overall, loved HFR and loved this place. Would recommend to all my friends. Next time I'm in Paris I will stay here (or book with HFR). They were accommodating.

Wow we loved this place. Nice 2 level apartment, 2 bedrooms, 1 ensuite and 1 toilet, the other bedroom has a small shower. 2nd level had a Living room and kitchen. The view was amazing, looking out over Paris from our balcony day or night was breath taking.

We had a wonderful experience at the Atelier Picasso apartment. We traveled as a family of four, two adults and two young children, and loved the apartment, the location and of course, Paris. The apartment is wonderful and has a gorgeous view of the city and the Eiffel tower!
